About the artist

Jacques Brun’s visual language is recognisable for its romantic depictions of nature. Seeking reprieve from media portrayals of the environment and its destruction, Brun combines myth, dreamlike imagery and non-linear narratives to foster a more personal connection with the natural world.

“I’m interested in the border between popular, mythical depictions of nature and the representation of the environment in society.”
Jacques Brun

“Mysteries, utopias and dreams need to re-emerge in contemporary image making. I want to speak in a language without concrete words but with emotional imagination.
